Coos County Logging Museum
The Logging Museum, at the corner of Seventh and Maple,
packs a great deal of history into this pioneer replica of the famous
Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. It was erected in 1910 and is on the
National Register of Historical Places.
It houses an unsurpassed photography collection that shows more than a
century of the tough-as-nails men and women who worked in the logging
camps, harvested the timber and sawed it in the mills, as well as an area
dedicated to those who died in timber industry accidents. The Museum is
home of the complete set of myrtlewood slabs carved by Alexnander Benjamin
Warnock.
